Dance Church

When we hold a wish inside our hearts and move our bodies around this desire, we are shaped from the inside out. Our skin and bone, unfolds around the understanding we hold inside. This happens every moment throughout our lives whether we are conscious of it or not. Dance church is a space to connect to the Divine and consciously embody who we wish to be and channel what we wish to experience here. Personally, we dance to unfold parts of us that are masked or unexpressed, or to align to and invite new energies we wish to experience. Collectively we move with a shared wish in order to hold a new vision for our world and let this truth become realized and embodied through our conscious expression.

8:00 Arrival time

8:15 Opening circle - Please arrive by this time so we can come into space together. If you arrive past 8:20pm please read the Dance Church manifesto by the front door and sign the attached waiver before joining the dance.

8:30 Dance your personal wish

9:00 Dance for the collective - our world

9:30 Mystical play and exploration - share the spirit practices that are currently moving you and co-create a group exploration of energy and mystical play.

Dress comfortably in clothing that allows you to move easily and freely. You may want to roll on the floor or stretch on the stairway. Dance church is a good place to try on new states of being, so we invite you to dress in any way that will help you channel the type of energy you are looking to embody.

BYO wine and plant based enhancements for after the dance. We will have boxed wine available for $3/glass to cover costs.

Music will be loud, so please bring earplugs if you have sensitive ears. :-)

Can you tie your shoes, pour your water or flush your poo with reverence for all of Life? It can be exhausting to consciously infuse meaning into every action, and so easy to forget when we are in our busy lives. Coming together makes it easier to remember. This is the inspiration for dance church.

Please remember that we will be practicing functional silence during 8:30 - 9:30.

Please move through the space mindfully and with conscious connection to what you hold sacred, using your hands, feet, eyes and all your senses to tune in to and acknowledge the Divine.

This is church. We are here together, but our attention is expanded beyond personal interaction. Feel the beating hearts around you and beyond these walls, and feel free to come and leave in silence, if that is what calls to you in the moment.

You don’t need to dance at dance church. How would you curate your personal church? What aspects of being and acts of reverence and embodied connection light you up? Welcoming you to explore and engage with your personal devotional practice, and to be together with others who are syncing up to the same.
